Fanatic has been on the scene since day one and today we are still one of the leading windsurfing brands worldwide. We owe this status partly to the fact that we constantly create new concepts and ideas to improve technological standards. Our shaper Sebastian Wenzel was the first to successfully apply CAD technology in production boards – resulting in immaculate, innovative shapes. More importantly: we have, and always had, a top team of world-class windsurfers inspiring us and giving us an insight into the direction windsurfing will be taken in the future. New trends in the field of Freestyle, evolving through skateboard inspired riding, as well as our ground-breaking progress in Waveboards are just some of the results of this inspiration. Our boards are ridden by World Champions, national and local heroes, but most importantly by our customers - dedicated windsurfers, who share our Addiction to Ride! Tabou “Tabou started In 1993 when Bic Sport came to ask me to shape their production boards and team rider boards. The first boards I shaped for them were the Bic Vivace and since then I’ve shaped all their boards even the very successful Techno line (which they sold 25000 of). Last year talking with Knut Budig we both thought that there was room on the market for a brand like Tabou to grow and to be one of the market leaders in the near future” Says Fabien Vollenweider. Tabou’s primary focus is developing boards that perform well, and are easy to use for beginners through to professionals. Now the company is owned by 2 windsurfer’s - Fabien Vollenweider and Knut Budig (Gaastra Europe and also ex junior windsurf world champion). These guys know what the market needs and have a passion for windsurfing just like you!
